Vice President, Strategic Development
Ann Marie Hickambottom is Vice President Strategic Development with overall responsibility for the YWCA GLA’s real estate portfolio, development and construction projects with oversight of the Facilities Field Administration and Special Projects Management staff team.
Ann Marie joined the YWCA Greater Los Angeles in 2008 .During her tenure she has led the team of staff and consultants to oversee the development of three construction projects bringing online two community centers and the company’s flagship Urban Campus Faye Washington Youth Empowerment Center in the burgeoning South Park area of Downtown Los Angeles. Totaling $97million in development costs and 184,000 square feet all projects were completed “on time and on budget”. She was an integral partner in collaborating with the financing and legal team in bringing to fruition the complex financial arrangement for the $77 million Urban Campus project which included leveraging private foundation grants, government loans and contracts and an expanded use of the New Markets Tax Credit with allocations and investments from multiple community development entities and major lenders.
Her division is responsible for management of the company’s seven properties in Compton, Hollywood East Los Angeles, Walnut Park, North Valley, Angeles Mesa and Downtown Los Angeles. As a member of the executive team she staffs the Board of Director’s Sustainability Committee, is responsible for effective participation in creation of the strategic plan, and advisory on new initiatives.
Prior to joining the YWCA GLA, Ann Marie served as Senior Vice President, Community Services for Century Housing Corporation. Prior to her service at Century Housing Corporation she was Deputy Director of the Century Freeway Affirmative Action Committee, Inc. In her private life, she has served on many boards and commissions, most recently as Chair of the Pasadena Planning Commission. A “military-brat” – her mother is an Army veteran, her father and his sister both were Army and Air Force officers, respectively – she is a proud member of the Los Angeles Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen Inc.
