Los Angeles, May 10, 2017 — The 2017 YWCA Greater Los Angeles’ Phenomenal Woman Awards today saluted four powerful Southland women “who have worked to empower underserved girls and young women to shatter their glass ceilings to achieve the victory of fulfilled lives and careers” in the words of YWCA Greater Los Angeles President and CEO and Faye Washington, co-keynote speaker for the event with Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard.
The nationally respected organization’s honors luncheon presented their respective Phenomenal Woman awards to Deborah Borda, 17 year President and CEO of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association, now departing to head the New York Philharmonic, Lakers Youth Foundation Executive Director Kiesha Nix and Los Angeles Unified School District Superintendent Michelle King.
